Administration: Business and Operations
At City of Fountains School, the administration realm is not just an operational body but a vital, heart-centered force that nurtures and carries forward the mission of the school. There is no hierarchy in Waldorf Schools; rather, the administration "ministers" by serving to hold and weave together the threads of the educational vision, the well-being of the children, and the support of the faculty and families. It is a realm that works behind the scenes, not seeking prominence but instead ensuring that the school flourishes in a holistic way.
The administration in our school acts as a bridge between the pedagogical ideals of the faculty and the daily lives of the children and their families. It listens to the pulse of the school community and offers its presence as a mediator, helping to translate these ideals into practical experiences. This work is done with reverence for the individuality of each child, family, and faculty member. Through its stewardship of the enrollment process, marketing, and communication, the administration helps to share the light of the education inspired by Waldorf, inviting families to step into a world where each child’s uniqueness is cherished.
Beyond the essential tasks of managing payroll, accounts, and safety, the administration plays an important role in creating a supportive and welcoming environment for the entire school community. Its work goes beyond the day-to-day logistics to focus on fostering a space where trust, respect, and understanding can grow. The administration helps ensure that the school’s educational values are communicated clearly and lived out in ways that nurture everyone involved. At its core, the administration is dedicated to supporting the overall well-being of the school, balancing the needs of both faculty and families. By fostering open and thoughtful communication between parents, faculty, and the board, the administration works to maintain a community where each voice is valued, relationships are strengthened, and every child’s path is met with care and consideration.
