City of Fountains School is looking for energetic and motivated substitute teachers to work with students from kindergarten through Grade 8. The best candidates for this posititon are flexible, enjoy working with children and have some sort of education experience. Successful candidates will have to undergo a background check.
Responsibilities:
Follow regular teacher’s lesson plans in a way that ensures consistency and optimal learning, and that encourages students to participate.
Modify teaching styles to fit the learning styles of various students.
Maintain a well-managed classroom and positive learning environment.
Supervise students out of class such as in hallways and at playgrounds.

City of Fountains is seeking a Part-Time Grades Classroom Assistant to support our Grades Teachers in the implementation of the daily rhythm, curriculum, and classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the lead teachers in Grades 1- 8 by following their guidance and classroom plans
Uphold class expectations and provide consistency and care in working with students
Hold the class when a lead teacher is absent or steps out, ensuring a stable and nurturing atmosphere
Participate in up to one hour of weekly check-in time with lead teachers
Be present during the first two weeks of the fall semester (a blackout period unless pre-approved)
Remain flexible and ready to support other areas of the school if needed, including:
Substituting in other classrooms
Assisting in other grades
Supporting the administrative team
Qualifications:
Ability to support and manage a classroom environment with warmth, consistency, and clarity
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Reliability and professionalism; timely communication with administration when absences arise
Interest in or openness to learning about Waldorf education and Anthroposophy
Experience working with children in an educational setting preferred
Work Schedule:
Monday through Thursday, 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM, during the academic year.
Additional participation in staff development opportunities (e.g., pedagogical and Anthroposophy meetings, early release in-service days) is encouraged
