Kindergarten Assistant – IMMEDIATE

City of Fountains School is seeking a Kindergarten Assistant for immediate hire who can help foster a classroom environment of reverence and loving joy. Ideal candidates will have:

  • Experience working with young children
  • Helping to maintain a clean and orderly classroom.
  • Strong organizational skills and dependability
  • Helping with each day’s cooking and dishes.
  • Under the direction of the Kindergarten Lead Teacher, working with and caring for children.
  • Assisting during all classroom activities and transitions.
  • Spending a portion of everyday outdoors in all types of weather.
  • Modeling inner capacities such as compassionate listening, gratitude, stillness, warmth and creativity.

1st Grade Teacher – 2020-21

City of Fountains School is searching for a class teacher for our rising 1st Grade class for the upcoming 2020-2021 school year. Our unique program will work with children who come four days a week to experience main lesson and specialty classes. You will join a dedicated faculty, and will be instrumental in helping to build our small school. Our school offers Parent/ Toddler classes, Kindergarten, 1st-6th Grade, Specialty classes, and mixed Grades homeschool enrichment classes, all based upon Waldorf education methods. 

For the 2019/20 school year we are offering our academic program to children in grades 1- 6. The children will rotate throughout the day between their lead teacher and specialty teachers. Our Grades classes will meet 9:00-3:10pm, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and run September through May. 

Ideal candidates will have:

  • Classroom teaching experience
  • Waldorf experience, teacher training or willingness to begin training
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and dependability
  • The ability to plan and augment instruction
  • A broad education in the arts and sciences, B.A. preferred or equivalent experience and study
  • Commitment to collaborative work with fellow colleagues 
  • Ability to participate in the school’s community life and festivals
  • Understanding of the importance of self development
  • A warm and welcoming approach to students and parents
